Get Your South African Documents Legalised for Use Overseas
A DIRCO Apostille or Certificate of Authentication helps confirm the origin of an official South African document for international use outside South Africa.
Apostilles are normally used for countries that are part of the Hague Apostille Convention. If the country is not part of that convention, a Certificate of Authentication may be required instead, together with further embassy or consulate legalisation.
What is an Apostille?
An Apostille is a certificate attached to an official document to confirm the signature, stamp, seal or issuing authority so the document can be recognised internationally in participating countries.
What is a Certificate of Authentication?
A Certificate of Authentication is commonly used when the destination country does not accept Apostilles. Additional embassy or consulate legalisation may still be needed depending on the country.
